Roadtrip summarize

Awesome roadtrip! Which of course was all according to plans..
We had a hysterically funny time, full of music (with pre-composed party tunes - it can never go wrong!) laughter and fun times. We laughed our way out of Stockholm (damn southern suburbs - go north, yeay!) and sang our way down to Gislaved. Arrived fashionably late as ladies always does...
Saturday was our dear Hanna's 23rd bday (ha! same age!) and beside pressies and song we spent it on one of our other natural talents - shopping! We extended our roadtrip a bit and drove to Ullared for the day and arrived back home again with four new bags full of shopping. Who'd have thought, eh?
On our last day we could only stay till lunch before headin back to the royal capital of our charmin country. And did so with much success I must say; nor rain or a fuckinshitloadsof cars could dampen our spirits. We even made some new friends in the car-que.
All in all; major sucess. Got to be done again!
Only thing that could be said against us could be that we took too few pictures to show off our good time and charmin characters... ;)

My leaving from work

Last day at work has come and gone. As customary - I got a leaving present from my co-workers and a flower. It was - well, it felt kinda customary the whole thing. Sure, I'll miss most of them, and they me, but I've never been much for those 'cermonial' thingies.
But of course theres always people that in some, sometimes small - but still - ways makes an impression on you. Ivar for one did, who also happened to be the gentleman buyin me flowers for my leaving. That warmed.
Now I'm about to start the next step and am really lookin forward to it.

Sunday 12 August 2007

It rained - and I were out.

As I usually do when I finish early, I decided to walk home from work today. The route I take takes about an hour and it's a nice walk. The weather didn't look that bad when I left. And truth to be told, lookin at the clouds it never looked that bad - still they somehow still managed to accumulate a rather vast amount of water. So - about 7 minutes or so later, thanks to some very incontinent clouds I was as soaked as a drenched kitten.

I've never really had anything against rain. In fact I actually rather enjoy a rainy day... sitting at home readin a good book. I'm also the kind of person that do not own an umbrella. This has generated suprisingly many discussions and people seem to refuse to leave my life umbrella-free. I reason as thus; when it rains I'n not out, ergo; I don't need an umbrella. Following this statement there's always complaints about that line of argument lacks in reason - and it does.

This is because I rarely trust in reason- it is for rational and sensible people. I much prefer acting on emotions and impulses, since I find them much more entertaining. The small amount of reason I do possess I save for some good advices every now and then. Although I wouldn't recomend you to trust that my advices are always sensible - far from it. It's more likely I'll incite to something with more interesting prospects..

To sum it all up. umbrellas are, I'm sure, to good use for some, sensible people who actually also have them when needed (which coincidentally means they probably carries around with the stupid things uncountable times all in vain). But when umbrellas come into the life of Alfie, they're of the smaller size and their only real use is makin the drink look a bit more like something from Sällskapsresan.

Saturday. Weekend!

There's a natural dislike in working weekends. It's an unnatural thing to do. Even goes against a few religious beliefs as well. Shame I don't have any of those then. Weekends should be cherished and enjoyed properly as the miniture-holidays they are. Not faff about with laundry or summat else ridiculously time wasting, but to soak in any eventual sun, read a book, enjoy an evening in good company and generally enjoy the freedom of not needing to answer any calls. That does not - of course - concern Fio who is already excellent in some aspects here... (When I call you, I've got summat to say. So pick up the goddam phone!)
Enjoy your weekends and I'll go and make me some tea.

oh, and yeah, in case you were wondering - I'm working tomorrow as well. just great...

Thursday

In the life accordin to Alfie there's a few things that can be concluded;
* it was Nadias last day at work today before movin to Skåne, and Im gonna miss her immensley in my everyday life.
* Telenor sucks. They absolutely wont stop sendin Hanna's mail here. Even after several phonecalls informing that any Ms Kruse does no longer live on this adress.
* I have now only 6 days left at work and am startin to get nervous about goin back to school.
* I want my brother to come back home from Gotland. Not because I've missed him that much, just so the drunken git will stop callin me in the dead of the night! Gah.

Now I'll be off to see hopefully all three of my lovely ladies, Nettan Fio and Klara. Despite living fairly close all three we rarely seem to synchronise all our scheduels that very often.

Tuesday

For the first time of this year I went in the water. Not just toedippin this time. :) The weather was brilliant, so me and Mange met up with a few of his friends and we all went to the beach. Can't belive the weather this summer, but it was nice finally havin a great day out enjoyin it!

After some dinner and a film, a round of evening Trivial Pursuit started. Good fun, but eventually at 1 o'clock no one was longer as into it so we called it a night. 3 hours of tp does help falling asleep though...

Monday

When me and Nadia got off work we went to Sundbyberg to pay a visit to our tattoo artist. I needed to ask Fabbe's opinion about my latest. He told me to come back friday, either he'd fill it in then or scheduel a new time for it. Worth doin so it'll look good, but stull can't say I look forward to it too much. The tat on the wrist, the turtle, didn't hurt so much doin at all. But afterward... uh.
After we'd been there we went and had a sandwich at a charmin little café before headin back home again to Jakan. Just got time to take a shower before headin into town. Met up with Mange and (as my brother says) Lule-Mange to see the latest Harry Potter (the Order of the Phoenix). Not suprisingly it felt like it would've needed to be at least twice as long to include everything that's in the book. So it felt like the movie only vaguely brushed by everything. A bit dissapointing, but expected. But it was a nice evening. After the movie we went to McDonald's for a bite and to talk about the film.

Stockholms marathon a la Hanna & Malin

Us girls had a brunch date on sunday morning at 11. Met up at Medborgarplatsen we straight away headed for my fav café on Söder, Blå Lotus. When we'd had our proper brunch and felt full, we decided to walk though Söder. Eventually we got to Old Town where we had a coke and a dessert. We sat there for quite a while, talkin, catchin up and just enjoyin a beautiful day. Took the tourist route to Drottninggatan, maybe did some shopping (well, we were there anyway, right?). We had dinner at Jensen's and finished off our lovely day out with a beer in Kungsträdgården. Enjoyin the last hour of sun, sitting and talkin to one of my dearest friends. That's one of those moments when life is just as it should be. Grand.

saturday

Saturday and I was working. :(
Came home to a kitchen that looks as has served as battlefield for some gerilla warfare organisation. Which quickly led me to the conclusion that I wasn't cookin dinner tonight. Or tomorrow either for that matter.
Luckilly for me, Putte had decided to buy me dinner. Pizza, it turned out. Not too suprisingly. Micke and Klara also came over. Watched Hoodwinked. Not as good as could've been, felt a bit slow in the turns.
Hoped for a relatively early evening when they all left at midnight. But that wasn't really how it turned out after all. Niklas' call woke me up at 1, just at I slept as best. He needed a place to crash, so it was just for me to go up and make the sofa. Then a bit later Mange called, although that I knew he was going to. And even though it was 3 in the morning, it was nice.
Since I had a date the following day, I unfortunately woke the somewhat slightly hungover Niklas as I was gettin ready. Had maybe not got all the sleep I would've needed, but hey.

Friday 3 August 2007

Desperate housewife!

Since I'd shamefully forgotten my dear friend Niklas' 20th bday measures needed to be taken. As an apology I invited him over and decided to make him a nice dinner. And since remembering how our last and only apptempt in cookin a dinner together ended in a wooden spoon-battle, I decided to go at it alone.
Knowin that askin him for what he'd like wouldn't help much (Oh, some roadkill'll be fine by me..) I didn't.
Since I have a problem with doin things moderate, I ended up cookin a fullblown three-course fancy table dinner. Was speakin to Hanna on the phone while doin my food shoppin (god, I love my handsfree) and decided they should join in as well! The more the merrier. All of a sudden the numbers of dinnerguests had drastically increased. But referring back to my earlier statement of not bein able of doin things in a small scale, we eventually ended up with enough left overs for a lunch to ne the next day at work.

The dinner was a success and we had a brilliant evening! All good laughs and a really good time. Niklas suprised us all with his good english, Mike was very complimentary of my cooking (really nice lad! ) and Hanna and I got some time to catch up again. I also got a few pressies that Hanna'd brought back from England to me :) Amazing how glad you can be for something worth 50 p. at Asda's!

Despite the odds I'd managed it!
Starters: Feta-cheese salad with tomatoes and zucchini
Maincourse: Oven roasted garlic-entrecôte served with rosmary potatoe wedges and mixed rootvegetables.
Dessert: Raspberry and elder flower pie with custard
I'll tell ya, the cleaning up part was a bitch!!!
